About the Author

Ray Collingwood (January 31st, 1944 – July 13th, 2024) was a Canadian bush pilot, outfitter, and co-founder of Collingwood Brothers Guide Outfitters (Skeena Air Guides Ltd.) with 55 years of bush flying and guiding experience in the Spatsizi wilderness.

Ray received many accolades as an outfitter, including the Frank Golata Award in 2007, Safari Club International Outfitter of the Year in 2011, a long standing member of GOABC for over fourty years and Northern B.C. Tourism's Protector Award in 2012. For recognition of his residential development, Ptarmigan Meadows, Ray received the Award of Excellence from the Town of Smithers. He was deeply committed to community building in the Bulkley Valley, and his message of wildlife preservation echoes throughout time.
